Gibraltar law is based on the English common law, the principles of equity and the Gibraltar Acts of Parliament. Much of Gibraltar's legislation follows the English law, practice and procedure with variations to suit the local conditions. Gibraltar is a part of the EU and, therefore, all relevant Directives are implemented and all Regulations form a part of Gibraltar law. More information appears below. Gibraltar has a very flexible legal system which is not bureaucratic and thus facilitates business and international transactional work.
